DOZIJN, object-performance, 2020
With Studio Oebjet Troevee we designed a bench from waste material as a central element for Dozijn, a project created within Maison Florida in which traditional household objects are questioned while connecting the people of Quartier Canal. Each edition one artist is invited to interact with one machine. A dozen seats on our bench are available from which the first six are reserved for a local company that offers a location for the performance. The remaining spots are for external guests. Together we all push the mobile bench to its location. In the second edition Milan Gillard was invited to interact with a washing machine, resulting in a roaring conversation in which man and machine are vocally tumbling over one another until the predetermined washing program was completed.
