With social media it becomes possible to share our unfiltered opinions on anything within a few seconds. This fast process makes it difficult to slowly overthink and nuance these opinions, which can lead to short-sighted and often aggressive or racist comments. For this project I am asking people to send me screenshots of any kind of online hate speech they may come across. I then directly manipulate these comments to create poetry in which the emotion of the original writer is still present, but in a more suggestive and less short-sighted way then before. By doing this I do not want to hide the hate but instead dive into it and search for meaning. This is an ongoing project which can be followed on Instagram.
