From Nettle to Textile, workshop
For a few years I have been researching ways to extract fibre from the Stinging Nettle. Through the steps of picking, retting, peeling, scraping, rubbing, carding and finally weaving, I try to turn this unwanted friend into a natural textile. Interested in this workshop? My love for Nettles came from the experiences of Allan Brown, who has researched nettles for a long time and even made a dress out of it for his daughter. You can find more of his research on Nettles for Textiles.
